History of the School
The Bom Sucesso School (JI) is located in one of the city's most upscale areas, on Rua Barbosa du Bocage. Built on the grounds of Quinta do Bom Sucesso, the school opened in 1958 and underwent renovations in 2010.
The School is part of the Centennial Plan, consisting of six blocks (four of them with 12 classrooms, a gym, a UEEA room, intended for students with autism, a teachers' room, offices for support/therapy, bathrooms and a cafeteria), a fifth block where the Library operates that supports the School and the well-equipped JI, both in terms of documentation and computer equipment and a sixth block where the JI operates (with 4 classrooms, a hall, teachers' room, support/therapy room, bathroom and a cafeteria).
The school/kindergarten has heating and large windows, providing good light and ventilation. It has a great playground, large and spacious with a few trees, soccer goals and basketball hoops, and some floor games (jumping, snails, etc.), where all the children—from the school and kindergarten—play together, creating a pleasant and social environment that's beneficial to both their development.
Bom Sucesso School is part of the Agrupamento de Escolas Infante D. Henrique (Infante D. Henrique School Cluster) and is included in its recently approved Educational Project 2025–2028.

The History of the Association
The Bom Sucesso Parents' Association was officially established on July 26, 1991 (DR No. 58 of 10-3-1992) with the aim of “contributing to close and permanent collaboration between students, school management and teaching staff and parents and guardians for the educational work that they jointly share”.
What we do
APBS's main initiatives
1 / School porter
We fund and ensure the presence of a permanent school porter during the afternoon, providing a calm and safe environment at dismissal time.
3 / Representation and dialogue
Active representation within the School Group: we maintain a presence on the General Council, presenting proposals and monitoring the school’s daily operations.
5 / Activities and school culture
We support and/or organize school and cultural events such as Magusto, Halloween, Pajama Day, Christmas, Carnival, Tree Day, Spring Festival, Easter, Family Day, and the Graduation Celebration. We also organize community gatherings on selected Saturdays under a program we call Super Saturdays.
2 / Parent Volunteers
We organize and maintain a daily support group in the preschool and primary school cafeteria, strengthening collaboration with the school and allowing parents to assist during lunchtime.
4 / Improvement and renovation
We monitor and support school renovation projects, working closely with the School Coordination, the School Group, and the City Council throughout the construction and relocation process.
6 / Financial support
We provide financial support for educational projects, contributing to study visits, theatre performances, and other curricular enrichment activities.
